Karen Althea comes with a wealth of knowledge and experience within the church and corporate society. She has lectured and served for over a decade at Bethel Bible College, Jamaica Theological Seminary (JTS), and the International University of the Caribbean (IUC). She has for many years specialized in teaching and tutoring in Greek. Her teaching experience spans over seventeen (17) years from the primary to tertiary levels. Karen Althea has volunteered many hours also to the Ministry of Justice through research at Tower Street Correctional Facility (also known as Gun Court in Kingston, Jamaica) and through psychotherapy at Victim Support Unit in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica. Karen Althea has been intricately involved in community building and church planting.

Karen Althea served as a Registered Psychotherapist within a forensic mental health institution and working with youth who struggle with criminogenic issues and various mental health concerns. She also served in academia. Karen Althea has developed a reputation as a gifted and inspirational speaker at numerous formal and social gatherings. She is also a committed therapist to adults and adolescents with complex traumas and acute mental health issues. With over 15 years' experience in psychotherapy, her approach is integrative with its core in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) informed sessions.  Karen Althea is a committed therapist for individuals, youth, adults and families.
